As the largest source of energy on the planet, the sun delivers approximately 1.08 × 1018 kilowatt hours (kWh) to the earth’s surface annually, about 10,000 times the world’s primary energy requirements. The most advanced solar modules, which convert solar energy into electricity, are making an increasingly important contribution to meet this demand. Solar modules can only reach their full potential when they are optimally oriented towards the sun. The a+f GmbH offers the most robust, technologically advanced and affordable tracking systems on the market. They are built to adjust the solar module surfaces continuously to the sun’s current position, delivering energy yields that are up to 35% higher.
SunCarrier: The SunCarrier system consists of the modules that are arranged on a slanted surface (up to 40° from the horizontal plane) to keep the modules continuously oriented directly towards the sun. As a result of this design, SunCarrier is ideally suited for utilisation in open-air installations between the 25th and 55th parallels, with yield increases of up to 35% in comparison to systems with a fixed orientation to the south.
SkyCarrier: The best installation areas for SkyCarrier are near the equator. The sun angle is up to 90°, so that only horizontal tracking of the photovoltaic modules is required for optimal orientation towards the sun. The rotary axis of SkyCarrier ensures that the tilt angle of the module surfaces move at an angle up to ± 60° in relation to the horizontal plane.
